TAPC CERTIFICATION - TRAVEL AGENT PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION
The TAPC Certification or Travel Agent Professional Certification is administered and awarded by Travel Agent Campus and is an examination that allows candidates to demonstrate to the industry and the public that they have mastered the prerequisite courses by examination, have passed the timed and proctored final examination, have earned the required CEU's, have consistently abided by travel industry ethics standards determined by ASTA, and have a good standing within the travel industry.
SCHEDULING AND PAYMENT
THIS CERTIFICATION EXAM MUST BE REGISTERED BY THE CANDIDATE, SCHEDULED AND PREPAID (UNLESS INCLUDED IN YOUR COURSE) 5 DAYS PRIOR TO TESTING. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN REVOCATION OF CERTIFICATION AND A PAYMENT PENALTY OF $100.
This certification is administered and awarded by Travel Agent Campus. Testing format is 100% online, 4-hour (240 minutes) timed exam, 1 try only with a proctor (retests at a later date are available for $25), must score 80% or higher to pass. The exam is a proctored exam consisting of 447 multiple-choice and true / false questions.
This certification is valid for 1 year from the date of successfully completing the exam.
All first time candidates receive a provisional certification upon passing the exam. Once the candidate can document at least 6 months of travel industry experience and has earned 10 continuing education units (CEUs), has consistently abided by travel industry ethics standards determined by ASTA, has a good standing with the travel industry, and has provided an attestation of ethics/standing, the candidate's certification will be transferred from provisional status to regular status.
RENEWAL & CEU's
This certification must be renewed before its 1 year expiration date by:
Successfully passing the exam, paying a $25 recertification fee, consistently abiding by travel industry ethics standards determined by ASTA, being in good standing with the travel industry, provide an attestation of ethics/standing, have earned a minimum of 10 continuing education units (CEUs) per year to maintain their certification. CEU requirement is an effective way to master new skills, attain product knowledge, remain current on industry trends, and continue to develop your role as a travel professional. Contact us via email to verify the acceptability for continuing education units (CEUs). CEUs from ASTA, CLIA and The Travel Institute are universally acceptable by Travel Agent Campus.
This certification is transferable to our contracted host agencies and may not be transferable to other institutions. It is the prerogative of the receiving institution to accept or deny transferability. Check with other institutions prior to registration.
An exam proctor is required for this exam. The proctor must be with you during your entire examination. Proctoring can be at any venue determined by the proctor. The proctor is someone chosen by the candidate, and their responsibility is to be sure that the candidate isn’t using any books, notes or reference materials while testing. The proctor chosen should be a) over 21, b) not related to the candidate, c) not currently preparing to take the TAPC certification themselves, d) currently in or from a professional career field.
TIMING OF THE EXAM
The TAPC exam has a 4-hour (240 minutes) time limit and should be taken in one sitting. The time is displayed within the exam and we will have a time stamp on our end from when you started and ended the exam. If you go over your time limit, your exam will be invalid and you will have to retest at a later date. Plan a time when you won’t be disturbed for that block of time.
TAKING YOUR EXAM
Before taking your exam, make sure you are in an environment where you will not be disturbed. Your answers are saved as you submit each one, not at the end of the exam. This means you will not lose any work. Avoid using your browser back button as this will not work. Make sure you take your exam on the same date as your registration.
HOW TO AVOID BEING LOGGED OUT OF A EXAM
Stay connected to the Internet during your exam. Do not click away from the exam until you have submitted your answers and finished the exam.
If your exam page freezes, you can click refresh on your web browser and the exam will again load on the same question you were on. If your Computer or Web browser has a problem or they are closed, using the same web browser, re-open your web browser go back into the exam and you should be taken back to the last question you were on, where you will be able to resume your exam. You may be required to log back in with the user ID and password.
Upon completion of your exam, your exam will be graded, and you will be advised of your grade. The user ID and password will be automatically deleted from the LMS once you have completed the exam. Your certificate will be emailed to you within 48 hours.
Travel Agent Campus will need the below registration information from you to schedule your TAPC Certification Exam. Pay for the exam and then register.
