TAPt - TRAVEL ADVISOR PROFICIENCY TEST

The TAPt – Travel Advisor Proficiency Test is administered and awarded by Travel Agent Campus and is a test that allows candidates to demonstrate to the industry and the public that they have mastered the prerequisite courses by testing, and have passed the timed and proctored final test.

SCHEDULING AND PAYMENT

THIS TEST MUST BE REGISTERED BY THE CANDIDATE, SCHEDULED AND PREPAID (UNLESS INCLUDED IN YOUR COURSE) 5 DAYS PRIOR TO TESTING. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN CERTIFICATE REVOCATION AND A PAYMENT PENALTY OF $100. 

 

TESTING DETAILS

This test is administered and awarded by Travel Agent Campus. Testing format is 100% online, 4-hour (240 minutes) timed test, 1 try only with a proctor (retests at a later date are available for $25), must score 80% or higher to pass. The test is a proctored test consisting of 447 multiple-choice and true / false questions. 

 

TRANSFERABILITY

This test and its certificate is transferable to our contracted partners / host agencies and may not be transferable to other institutions. It is the prerogative of the receiving institution to accept or deny transferability. Check with other institutions prior to registration.  

 

PROCTORS

A test proctor is required for this test. The proctor must be with you during your entire test. Proctoring can be at any venue determined by the proctor. The proctor is someone chosen by the candidate, and their responsibility is to be sure that the candidate isn’t using any books, notes or reference materials while testing. The proctor chosen should be a) over 21, b) not related to the candidate, c) not currently preparing to take the TAPt test themselves, d) currently in or from a professional career field.

 

TIMING OF THE TEST

The TAPt test has a 4-hour (240 minutes) time limit and should be taken in one sitting. The time is displayed within the test and we will have a time stamp on our end from when you started and ended the test. If you go over your time limit, your test will be invalid, and you will have to retest at a later date. Plan a time when you won’t be disturbed for that block of time. 

 

TAKING YOUR TEST

Before taking your test, make sure you are in an environment where you will not be disturbed. Your answers are saved as you submit each one, not at the end of the test. This means you will not lose any work. Avoid using your browser back button as this will not work. Make sure you take your test on the same date as your registration.

 

HOW TO AVOID BEING LOGGED OUT OF A TEST

Stay connected to the Internet during your test. Do not click away from the test until you have submitted your answers and finished the test.

 

TROUBLESHOOTING

If your test page freezes, you can click refresh on your web browser and the test will again load on the same question you were on. If your Computer or Web browser has a problem or they are closed, using the same web browser, re-open your web browser go back into the test and you should be taken back to the last question you were on, where you will be able to resume your test. You may be required to log back in with the user ID and password.

 

TEST FINALIZATION

Upon completion of your test, your test will be graded, and you will be advised of your grade. The user ID and password will be automatically deleted from the LMS once you have completed the test. Your test certificate will be emailed to you within 48 hours.
